The low pressure and rainy days of Tropical Storm Lee make me sleepy. Or is it that I live such a low-pressure life?
Wicket, the ruler of the house next door has been visiting while her servants are away this whole past month. She has usurped the housekeeper's bed, much to the dismay of Sabrina, who protests in no uncertain terms, and retreats to her second favorite 'nap-sack', Mom's wicker chair.
The say let sleeping dogs lay. The same applies for cats.
If you don't, you will be scolded.
You may get a real tongue-lashing....
....at best, a 'razz-berry'.!!
Gees, what part of 'I'm sleeping' do they not understand?
Wicket watching the bouncing bubbles on the screen-saver. Her gaze followed them all around the screen. When she was young, and that was 17 years ago!!!, she loved to chase bubbles. Her 'mom' took videos of her doing that, then showed them on the television, and took another video of her trying to catch the bubbles on the screen. Maybe 'mom' can find that old video tape and have it copied to cd. Then it could be uploaded here.
Hey, I got my picture on another blog! Mom made a new one for funny pictures of some more of my friends, and you can go there and write a caption for the pictures.Click right here: Write a Caption or on the link at right.
Hey, that's not fair to be labeled couch potatoes. We were out all night, hunting and doing all those things that cats must do while it's nice and quiet. And dark. We have to get some sleep sometime, you know. And besides, it's all wet and drippy out there again today.
And just look at what we found in Wicket's bathroom sink yesterday!
Hmm, I wonder if he wanted to wash all those feet?
Sabrina really loves doll-making. Her specialty is the small parts, like making the hands. Here she is working on the wire armature for those tiny little fingers. Gee, she wishes she had thumbs, it would be a lot easier!
There she goes with that camera, again!! Of course, I'm always willing to have my portrait made. It reminds 'them' who's man of the house, here.
But what is it with this water-color 'enhancement'? Now you can't see every gorgeous hair and whisker!
The housekeeper must be as bored as I am, with all these April showers. She's taken to writing silly poetry. I did see a Robin who seemed happy with it. He was splashing around and singing in the shower!! I think his name is Caruso. Here's the housekeeper's poem:
Rain, rain, go AWAY! Spot and Sabrina want to play.
They eat and request that I open the door,
then back off and frown at the ‘wet’ they abhor.
Enough of Sky weeping,
and Me puddle-leaping!
Lights on and cats sleeping
on the sofa all day!
Enough flashing and rumbling!
Clouds griping and grumbling!
And sturdy oaks tumbling!
Rain, Rain, Go AWAY!
Just so you'll know, I do have a job, one that suits my talents to a tee.
It's very important to keep all these pieces in place, while the doll-maker is attending to her housekeeping duties, you know. And well, let's face it, 'she' has not forbidden napping while I'm on duty. Sabrina is a more active partner in the process, and wants to be sure she's credited with the finished product. Urg! Girls!
This is my blog, so I can do as I please here, and it pleases me to do what I do best. That of course, is sleep. I practice it a lot, along with my other field of expertise: eating. I am proud of the fact that, though I don't care much for people food, I have never found a cat-food I didn't like, and happily polish off anyone's leftovers, even 'encouraging them to abandom the bowl prematurely'.
This is my friend, Sabrina, whose house I have confiscated as my own. As you can see, she frowns a lot, and is quite bossy, impatient, and demanding, but nevertheless tolerates my presence.
Jock lives next door, 'in the big house'. He's a very jolly, active character. He's absolutely certain he was the model for the Jock in the movie, Lady and the Tramp.
Velvet in the newest resident next door in the 'big house'. She's not all grown up yet, and so big and rambunctious, I sometimes avoid her. Actually, I moved out of that house when she got to be so much bigger than me. Sharing it with Wicket and Jock was ok, but a guy needs his sleep, and it's much quieter in my new place.
And here's Wicket. She is the aged queen of her household in 'the big house'. She's rather easily forgiven if she gets a bit crabby, for after all, she has shouldered that responsibility for 17 years, now.
And so, now you have been introduced to my circle of friends. I think it's time to sit and relax for a while. Maybe a good book will do it.
